1 Plan your batch

mL

2:1 is an example. Enter the ratio and measurement method on your epoxy product.

The batch is resin + hardener only. Pigment and other additives are not included.

Switching the measurement method keeps the batch number; it does not convert mL to grams.

How to calculate a resin mixing ratio

Enter the total amount you want to mix, then enter the resin-to-hardener ratio specified by your manufacturer. The calculator divides that batch between the two components using the same measurement basis.

Resin amount = total batch × resin parts ÷ total parts.
Hardener amount = total batch × hardener parts ÷ total parts.

Example: a 300 mL batch at 2:1 by volume

There are three parts in total. Resin is two parts, or 200 mL. Hardener is one part, or 100 mL. Combined, they make the planned 300 mL batch.

Example: a 300 g batch at 100:45 by weight

Resin is approximately 206.90 g and hardener is approximately 93.10 g. Use a scale for this weight ratio. These examples illustrate the calculation; they do not prescribe a ratio for your product.

Mixing questions

Can I use a weight ratio with measuring cups?

No. A weight ratio specifies masses and needs a scale. A volume ratio specifies volumes and needs suitable graduated containers. The ratios may differ because resin and hardener can have different densities.

Does changing grams to milliliters convert my batch?

No. This tool splits a batch in your chosen measurement basis. Changing the basis keeps the numeric batch value and reinterprets it in the selected units. Converting mass to volume requires product-specific density information.

Can I add more hardener to make epoxy cure faster?

Use the ratio specified for your product. This calculator is for measuring that ratio, not changing it. Follow the manufacturer's mixing and curing instructions.

How do I know how large a batch to make?

Use the epoxy resin volume calculator to estimate your mold capacity. Check the product's batch-size and pour-depth instructions before mixing.
